The Unforgettable Sandwich (Eliot Spencer from the show Leverage)

I've been enjoying the show "Leverage" lately, but something came along in season 4, episode 12 that I just had to try - Eliot Spencer's Unforgettable Sandwich.  Two of the characters, Eliot and Hardison, bicker back and forth throughout the episode about whether Hardison ate the Eliot's sandwich out of the office refrigerator.  Toward the end of the episode, Hardison states that Eliot probably just ate his own sandwich and forgotten... which launches Eliot into this little tirade:

After hearing how deliciously the sandwich was described, I figured I needed to try to make it myself.  Luckily (and unluckily) I wasn't the first person to have had this idea - a quick google search gave me specific instructions on ingredients and preparation.  It made it much easier to prepare, but took a little of the excitement out knowing that others before me had prepared this infamous sandwich.  The directions are here:

I had to substitute a white onion for the sweet Maui onion because I wasn't sure where to find one... but other than that the sandwich turned out pretty delicious!  I highly recommend it!
